What’s On Your Nightstand: Nicole Crowley

What's On Your Nightstand-From Left to Write

It’s that time again! Ready for a little nightstand gawking? Today I’m excited to introduce you to Nicole Crowley, whom I met when I first began blogging.  Nicole has written a memoir, Living A Miracle, We All Do… Every Day, and won a contest with her steamy short, The Garden.  Without further ado here is what’s on Nicole Crowley’s nightstand.

Nicole Crowley

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz:  I laughed when I first read the second of the four agreements, ‘Don’t take anything personally.’  How could I not?  But once you start to realize that everyone is starring in their own movie and has their own perspective, and you live from that perspective, this book can be life-changing.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho:  This book is nothing but pure joy.  I had always heard about this book and just got around to reading it. I’m so glad I did.  It’s a quick, great read about living your dreams; if you haven’t read it, pick it up soon.

Tender is the Night by F. Scott Fitzgerald:  I just started re-reading this classic.  Fitzgerald is one of my favorite writers.  Everyone talks about The Great Gatsby, but this book has a quiet elegance to it.  From the first page you are reminded how great writing should sound.  Fitzgerald himself called this book, ‘a confession of faith.’

Nicole Weber Crowley is the author of Living A Miracle, We All Do… Every Day, in which she dives into the depths of believing in yourself.  She is just finishing up a Young Adult novel, which is not coincidentally, about believing in yourself too.  She lives and writes in the DC Area with her husband and son, and recently won The Writer’s Center (of the DC Metro Area) Valentine’s Day Writing Contest for her steamy short story, The Garden.  You can find her over at her blog, BananaBlueberry or on Twitter – @NicoleWCrowley.
