What’s On Your Night Stand: Jodi Picoult

What's On Your Nightstand-From Left to Write

Last week, I met Jodi Picoult at the Random House event in DC to promote her upcoming book Leaving Time (releases Oct 2014). I’ve never read any of her books, but I wanted to learn more about the author and her success. She was absolutely charming during her onstage chat with Good Housekeeping’s Jane Francisco. Almost everyone in the audience were Jodi Picoult superfans. The fans ooh’d and aah’d with Jodi as she discussed her favorite and least favorite characters from her books.

During the Q&A session, I ran to the microphone to be first in line. I wanted to know what Jodi Picoult was reading now–besides her own book of course. Here’s what she told me, uh, the audience:

Books on Jodi Picoult’s night stand, in her own words:

I do only read one at a time because I’m getting too old for that. The book I’m currently reading is Book of Life by Deborah Harkness which is the third book in a trilogy and is 700 pages long. It’s what I’ve been reading for a while. It’s taken me awhile to get through it.

The books I have on deck for my vacation are We Are Completely Beside Ourselves by Karen Joy Fowler and The Book of Unknown Americans by Cristina Henriquez.

So there you have it. Have you read any of the books that Jodi Picoult has on her to be read pile?
