It’s Maaaay! May and June are exciting for new book releases because Book Expo America is next week and because of summer reading. There are just so many. So I’m here to tempt you with these new May book releases. Well, just the ones I’m excited about.
City of Mirrors by Justin Cronin. I have been waiting ever so patiently for the final installment of Cronin’s The Passage trilogy. If you’re a fan of post-apocalyptic worlds, these will hit your sweet spot. I was lucky enough to meet him a few years ago at Book Expo America. He’s the nicest guy. You definitely want to read these in order. See my review of book #1 The Passage and book #2 The Twelve. Start them now so you’ll be ready for City of Mirrors on May 24.
Wilde Lake by Laura Lippman. This is an author on my autobuy list. Her suspense thrillers keep me engaged with her twists and turns. Lippman writes multi-dimenisional female charactrs. Wilde Lake is about Luisa, who is the first newly elected female state attorney of her county. Her first case is controversial and digs up a past she’d rather forget. Available now.
Stay tuned this week because I’m giving away copies of Wilde Lake. (Sign up for emails so you don’t miss it!)
Double Cup Love: On the Trail of Family, Food, and Broken Hearts in China by Eddie Huang. Huang is now famous for Fresh Off the Boat, the sitcom based off his memoir of the same name. He’s a wicked smart, funny, and very astute. I’m looking forward to his next memoir. You can read my full review of Fresh Off the Boat here. Releases May 31, 2016.
The Secrets of Flight by Maggie Leffler. Historical fiction with a woman who fights the odds to be a pilot during World War II? Count me in! Set in present day, Mary has never told anyone about her past, but she hires a young girl to type out her story.
Which of these May book releases are you most excited about?
