A Teeny Bit of Reading: Bout of Books Day 3 Update

My Wednesday progress was a bit slower than Tuesday’s reading. That’s because I was a good mom today and took my kids to the park. Thank goodness for slightly cooler weather! I also took them to the library which meant I got to read a bunch of kids’ books. I’m glad my kids love books as much as I do.

I started reading An Echo Through the Snow by Andrea Thalasinos, but I’m still a bit hungover from finishing Seating Arrangements by Maggie Shipstead. You know what I mean? My head is still in the previous book. Trying to shed those characters to make room for new ones is tricky. Plus An Echo in the Snow alternates between past and present. It takes me a few chapters to adjust.

I also survived hosting my first From Left to Write Twitter chat. It was a bunch of fun and we talked about sexy characters in literature we’d like to be stranded on an island with. Who would you pick?

I”m not sure how my Thursday will go.  I know I’ll be reading more stories from my daughter’s latest Rainbow Magic Fairy anthology: Gabriella: The Snow Kingdom Fairy.

Wednesday Update

Books read: part of Gabriella: The Snow Kindgom Fairy and part of An Echo in the Snow
Pages read: 69
Blogs I left comments on: 8, more than my daily 5 to make up for yesterday’s lack of comments
Challenges participated: I failed horribly at the Zombie bookcover quiz and aced the word search!

Total books read: 2 and part of 2 books
Total pages read:  448

I didn’t think to keep track of the number of blogs I commented on!! Good idea… I’ll start tomorrow!

  2. I am finally making my way around to the blogs taking part in the read a thon and I like the idea of making notes on how many blogs you are commenting on. I think I might do soemthing similar to that. You are doing good. I had a slow day yesterday too for some reason. Good luck and I hope you are able to get some reading in today.

  3. You’re doing awesome! I did crappy on the zombie challenge, too …. but better than I thought I would!

i suck at visiting blogs! i will try to make up for it for the last few days, but i have so much going on! Seating Arrangements sounds pretty good, kinda like The Romantics by Galt Niederhalter, i might have to check that out! good luck!

  5. Melissa S says:

I’ve been so caught up in getting the kids ready for school (first day wed) and reading that I haven’t really had time to stop by all the blogs. I am trying to visit everyone that visits me, so hopefully I can keep that up.
I haven’t read any of the books on your list, but Seating Arrangements sounds like something I could get into! Keep up the pace!

  6. Awesome! Congrats on your first time tweetchat hosting title! Too bad I missed it. :( Keep up with the fab reading! Happy reading!

  7. You’re doing great! Being a good mom and playing with your kids in the park is a very good non-reading activity. My only excuse was work, and what fun is that?

  8. Don’t forget all those kids books you read today should also count toward Bout of Books. Reading is reading, right? Newspapers, web pages, magazines — even cereal boxes!
